Its like I never left

I was a lot busier in Atlanta than I expected to be. 9-5 workdays were more like 9-7, and when you meet someone you haven’t seen in nearly two years at 7:30 for dinner, you might not finish catching up until 11pm. I played one night of breakeven poker in the hotel but I only played for 30 minutes or so. It was a good trip as far as catching up with people and putting in some work hours though.

First session back at home… 200 hands, -$85, All in EV would have me +$30 (two noteworthy all ins, 75/25 and 60/40, lose both). Since August 12th I’m now down $790, all in EV has me down $175. I notice my cat sleeping peacefully over on my bed right now… do the poker gods accept feline sacrifices? ;)

I’m pretty much looking at a breakeven August at this point, + rakeback/bonus money.

Really after a 1k month at $25 an $50 PL in July a breakeven month isn’t a terrible thing, but I am a bit worried about my mindset as this streak continues. I’m fine when I first sit down to play and can play my A game as long as I’m focused, but as soon as something doesn’t go my way I just am immediately in a “Oh more of THIS” funk and am no longer playing my A game. not tilting away stacks, mind you, just not playing my best anymore, which is not a good thing.

It might be time to brush up on my Tommy Angelo.
