Tale of the Tape: Dixie vs. Mike Matusow
Monday, August 28th, 2006
I got done watching the WSoP day 1c on ESPN and noticed that I don’t appear once in the telecast. Instead they followed Mike around for his very short day at the office. So in the spirit of Nick Bakay’s tale of the tape I offer up me vs Matusow.
Category: Bobble head dolls.
Matusow: Has [...]

Back in the Groove
Thursday, August 24th, 2006
Well it took a while but I am finally back in the grove after the vegas trip. The past few days I have cleared $400 in bonus and made almost twice that at the tables. Last night was four-tabling mostly 3/6 but one 5/10 included. Tonight the 3/6 tables just comepletely broke [...]

HORSE-ing Around
Friday, August 18th, 2006
If you’re like me, and you’ve been reading elsewhere in poker’s corner of the blogosphere today, you’ve read others slobbering over the supposed juicyness of the new HORSE tables at Stars. Trying to decide how to unwind after a day at work, I decided I needed to see it for myself.
I picked a random table [...]

So close…

No SnG action for me last night, but I did decide to take another stab at the $11 Double Shootout to the Sunday Million. In round one, I again found myself heads-up, and pushing aside any confidence issues as best I could, found myself raising a pair of sevens from the SB. After a call, [...]

Back at it
Thursday, August 17th, 2006
After three weeks away from internet poker I was back at it last night clearing last month’s hollywood reload. I have plenty of bonuses I want to clear but I started with this one because it needs to clear at full ring and since I had only played full ring in vegas I thought [...]

Ugly
Wednesday, August 16th, 2006
Took another shot at the $11 Double Shootout satellite to the Sunday Million tonight. Was going very well until I got to heads up with an $8k to $4k chip lead. Unlike my previously documented heads-up troubles, it wasn’t that I felt a little lost in this one. No, this one was just stupidity.
And topped [...]

The first loser
Sunday, August 13th, 2006
Second place, that is.
I think I need to work on my heads-up play. I’m cashing in just over 50% of my SnGs over the last few weeks, but something like 90% of my cashes are for 2nd place. I’ve finished 2nd in the last two FOFC Colossal Squid tourneys as well.
On the one hand, I [...]

Dusting off the cobwebs
Saturday, August 12th, 2006
So we’ve lost one member, and watched another play in the WSOP Main Event. The rest of us have been polishing off our cricket impressions.
Me, I’m fresh off a move back to the States, and still working on getting the family settled. And yet my own laziness has been the primary reason for my ubiquitous [...]

The Dream is Over
Saturday, August 5th, 2006
So apparently crypto has decided that people who won via a freeroll won’t get to play in the 200K freeroll.Â? The interpoker team put up a fight but no luck.Â? They said since I was told that I was going to be playing they will compensate me into my poker account.Â? So [...]

More Busto

These 1,500 chip tourneys are not the time to go three hours without a pocket pair. After a decent run of cards in the main event just nothing today. A few AK that didn’t connect and I got short pretty quick. Doubled up once at the 50/100 level but then ran into [...]
