Anyway, one other thing I want to try next month is a sort of “Ladder Challenge”. Start with a 300BB bankroll for .5/1 ($300) and try and move up the ladder of limits with that money – by turning $300 into $600 and moving up, then $600 to 1200, and so on. I have to do some more research on this, because I am sure it has been tried before – and I actually think I can move up without having to double my “bankroll”.

6-max poker has been a disaster for me this month. I just keep bleeding money – starting with Pokerroom and Poker Plex early this month, plus just some futzing here and there with different sites. Every site it seemed like I would be down 25BB after 30 minutes or so and I would just get crushed. It got so bad that I switched to full ring to finish up my Total Bet bonus and actually made money. Full ring is so god-awful boring though, I was just getting depressed thinking about having to play that all the time.

I have JJ in the CO, 1 limper to me, I raise. Folds to BB who calls, and UTG limper limp re-raises me. I call, flop is 832. I bet, he raises, I call. I figure I’m in Way Ahead/Way Behind mode here so I call him down, expecting to be shown AA or KK. [...]

I haven’t had a lot to post lately because I haven’t been doing a whole lot of interest, poker wise. I’m still recovering from a nasty cold/sinus infection. So there has been some time where I wasn’t playing any poker at all. Currently, I’m plugging away at the new Party bonus – 400 hands [...]

Isn’t it odd how quickly things can change? This time last month I was slobbering over every poker bonus I could get my grimey little hands on, four tabling 500-700 hands per night, clearing hundreds and hundreds in bonuses.

Wow….five days without a new post? There’s just too many damn hands of blackjack to be played I guess.
The things we do for free money….sigh.
At any rate, thought I’d toss out a link to Imperial Poker. I don’t know exactly how “new” these guys are, but suffice to say, they’re not one of the heavyweights. [...]

Okay, okay – so the Poker Stars Sixty is just my hokey name for how I am going to approach what, upon further inspection, looks like a pain-in-the-ass bonus to clear. Apparently Poker Stars’ rake requirements, while very fair if you are just playing for shits and giggles, actually make clearing the bonus pretty difficult. At levels like 1/2 limit, the pot has to reach $15 before it gets raked and at NL or 2/4 the pot has to hit $20. Pretty similar to Pokerroom – and although the software is faster, the players are much tighter (if the Saw Flop % and average pot size numbers are to be believed).
